Great fun chasing her friends!

Time flies and Nia is now seven months. Still in the puppy stage, though perhaps not as sweet! She is a lively girl who does not want to miss anything. Always ready for action! It turns out that she is keen to retrieve as she should be! We have trained with both dummys and game, and a couple of times in the water. Lots of obedience training and heelwork that we do every day. She is at that age where she wants to `test` me a bit to see if she can get away with anything! I have to be fast and stay ahead of her:) Of course she is still only a puppy so we can´t be too serios!. She has started with tracking and she seems to enjoy it. She is very fast so she tends to miss the angles as she rushes by!

when retrieving is the key to success! We set off for Jälluntofta in Hylte. Today I had Bonita with me because Nia was not old enough to attend the course. But it was good for her who thinks she knows everything! The day began with coffee, presentation and information on day´s schedule. Then we gathered outside with our dogs. First we did a small test with heel and retrieving where Miriam Axner was course leader for the day could evaluate how far we had come. Then we did one hour of heelwork! After lunch we did more heelwork by the water's edge, and finally we did a walk-up exercise. The day ended with us buying things in the shop and coffee. The course was held at: http://www.hundsystrarna.se/

We have been doing alot of tracking during the summer and fall. We do not know when the snow will come and then it becomes impossible. Nia has started tracking too and we have trained together with Jane and her puppy, Ella. They are clever! We have also been training together with Inga with Siku, and Helena with her wonderful talented wippet puppy Shirley. Bonita managed to get a new HP in tracking, so now she has been doing some human tracks for a change. She doesn´t mind what it is for track so long as she can track!

Tracking!

Heel Training:

Nia

Close search training we do almost daily, and here we test among the reeds and water. You should vary the terrain as much as possible to get her used to different environments.

Retrieving her toy over a wall!

To the left, Inga goes with Helena when Shirley was doing her forest track. To the right, Ella tracks nicely and carefully and finds the hoof at the end

She got a little bit scared when she saw this dog looking at her from in the water!
