We are a group who get together on Mondays to train. Recently, there have been several new puppies in our group. Jane with her Ella who we train together with tracking, Ulla with her wonderful Qiuni and her brother Vigor. And of course, Nia! Ham Cup... This year it was Vetlanda´s turn to host the annual contest ham cup, where several clubs compete against each other to win. There were four clubs that started in this year. Grey weather, but better than snow;) 5 handlers and dogs from each club started, the best three results are added up and the club with the highest score receive the honor and trophy! The officially competing in Class 1 & 2 competed for the day in obedience class 1, while those who are competing 3 & elite drove obedience class. I decided to be with in the team this year and it was Bonita who was competing. She did very well and we got a first prize. I was very pleased with Bonita today. Not only that, but our team won! So fun! It has become a tradition to go to Labrador Småland Advent exhibition. Things went well for Fidela who got BIR and BIS. We won lots of prizes to take home! Jane and Evelina were also there and Ella was the best puppy among Tollers. Ulla was also there and exhibited her dogs. And Anette Johansson from Alseda brought many fine things for sale from her shop and of course it was difficult not to buy something! To the left you will see that there is a little girl in the same cage with a dog. She had to stay there until her mother was ready with exhibiting another dog! Vaxjo, and... .. .. We went to Vaxjö to the annual international exhibition there. Nice hall, good floor to walk on where the dogs remain clean. Lots of stalls to buy things, and after we had exhibited Fidela we went up to the cafeteria and had coffee. With it´s large glass windows gave us a panoramic view across the hall as you sit quite high up. Fidela got Excellent and 3rd place. When our club was arranging the last day of courses they also arranged a lecture about clicker training with Asa Lindenfors. We went there to listen. Though I do not train with clicker it is always interesting to hear about different ways to train.The club also organized an evening where Pia Svensson from Sävsjö talked about dog massage. It seems that we should massage our dogs a lot more than we do. Loosen them up before training and after to get them to relax.
