My lovely Bonita celebrated five years on 12 / 8, how time flies .. it feels like it was yesterday she was only a puppy! We have done alot together, and I hope the adventure continues the same at least another five years! She is a wonderful dog to work with, and I have learned so much from her. Family day with Labrador Smaland which took place in Skillingaryd. The day consisted of the exhibition, trying out retrieving and a quiz. On the way there it just pelted down, but the sun came out when we arrived and held out the rest of the day. We tried retrieving, went tipsround with not easy questions, and finally it was the exhibition. Catherine Ramberg was a judge for the day and Fidela was 3 BIS. Ulla showed Dixie who will soon be 15 years in the veteran class, and she took it all in her stride and thought it was fun to get out and take part! And of course there was coffee and chat with other acquaintances. A nice day. We went to our first puppy meeting for Nia. There were two litters that were supposed to meet as there is only one month between them. But it was only three from each litter that came so we could not meet all of her siblings. First, we talked about how it is going with our puppies, then they had to do some different exercises and also retrieve a bird which Nia thought she could keep herself! Lovely puppies and they all had a great retrieving desire! East where the organizers and the location was Säbyholms Naturbruksgymnasium outside Bro. 130 dogs had entered and Bonita and Fidela were two of them! The first day was a working test with five stations where the severity varied depending on which class they would go. We were all to start on station 1 and we came in last. We had to wait two and a half hours before it was our turn .... it was not so easy to get the dogs moving who got a little lazy by the long wait in the heat. But then it started to flow a little faster and the dogs did better on the last stations. When we got to the water station they were happy to cool off in the water! In the evening there was dinner in the school dining room with very good food.On Sunday it was time for the exhibition. If one was competing for the championship, you had to attend both days. As we usualy not many in the gundog class at a show we were not alone today! Since both dogs were entered into the same class Harald took Bonita this was the first time he ran with a dog in the ring! The judge for the day was Torunn Sörby from Norway. After the show was finished they added up the score for both days. There were 26 dogs that participated in both days of the NKL which Fidela was in, and she came in tenth place.
